SkyClip Commander Series
SkyClip – Drone Fishing to the Limit
SkyClip Commander Series is a high-quality bait release mechanism manufactured in Greece by UAV Electronics and has been used successfully Worldwide since 2016. SkyClip utilizes a stainless steel 304L marine grade RoHs qualified spring ball plunger system, making it incredibly reliable in extreme environments. Another important difference is Max Tension is adjusted and set at the factory to never exceed the specific drone’s carrying capacity – making it incredibly safe.
COMMANDER Series Sky Clip Bait Release
Made in Europe this High-quality precision bait release mechanism is backed by a 2-year warranty.
Skyclip has taken their high-quality bait release mechanisms one step further with their new Commander series Hybrid Electric Tension release Payload droppers allowing you to release your baits over the drop zone with precision electronically, but still, have the protection of a Tension release.
The Commander Series release features Electric activation by pressing the C1 or C2 Command buttons on your Drone’s remote controller, or the ability to release the payload via tension force ‘MTS’. The main benefit of the hybrid click allows the user to deploy the baits with pinpoint accuracy, with the added safety of auto-deployment due to reel bind or bird strike.
The Commander Series features a rechargeable battery for up to 100 activations of the release mechanism and is charged simply via the supplied USB cable, and has a charge time of 20minutes.
All Skyclip’s come with a 2-year warranty.
SkyClip Commander for Mavic Pro
What makes SkyClip Commander for Mavic Pro different? Well, unlike many of its competitors, SkyClip Commander for Mavic Pro utilizes a calibrated and qualified stainless-steel spring ball plunger system, making it incredibly reliable and corrosion-resistant – perfect for use above and in saltwater environments.
Another important difference is the max tension is adjusted and preset at the factory to never exceed the specific drone carrying capacity – making it incredibly safe and ‘TO THE LIMIT’.
By using a drop loop of 0.40mm diameter line, the tension force applied will always remain the same during releasing of the baits – This is very important for the Safety of the Drone. Tension down from the max limit can be adjusted via a stainless-steel set screw to cater to different diameter lines and weights. Skyclip’s tension release mechanism massively reduces the chance of losing your drone due to reel bind or line snags, and SkyClip is awesome for trawling baits and lures.
The SkyClip Commander for Mavic Pro features a corrosion-resistant Ball Spring Plunger that is constructed from AISI 303 Stainless Steel and RoHS qualified. The ball spring plungers feature a hardened stainless-Steel ball, Stainless Steel Spring, with 16 Newtons end force capability
All SkyClip tension release mechanisms are calibrated in the factory to the drones maximum lifting capacity – So there can be no chance of over-loading your drone
By maintaining a drop loop of standard diameter line of .40mm, the tension force applied will always remain the same during releasing of the baits – This is very important for the Safety of the Drone
SkyClips are lightweight, easy to attach, and are extremely strong providing years of service
SkyClips are designed and manufactured so they do not interfere with your drones VPS – Visual Positioning Sensors) and when connected – maintain the correct center of balance.
SkyClip Commander for Mavic Pro Specifications
Compatible Model: EX1 & Trident
Material: Polyamide Plastic and Stainless Steel
Drop loop line Diameter .70mm
Tension force calibrated: 1800gms
In order to work with the SkyClip Commander for Mavic Pro, first, insert the Drop loop with the .70mm diameter line in the slot of the Bait release, until it locks in its place.
Then, take off the Drone and reach your defined safety height of over 20 meters above sea level usually.
Fly the drone out over the water at speed and make sure that your line does not touch the water during the flight. (Keep the line taught during flight – hold it in your hand) Once you reach the point that you want to drop the bait, close the bail of the reel so that the line stops bailing out. At that point, DO NOT slow down the drone and keep the speed constant until the line releases automatically.
Finally, bring back the Drone to Shore.
The Story Behind SKYCLIP and UAV Electronics
UAV Electronics has been designing and producing special Electronics and Autopilots for Drones and Bait Boats since 2016. Whilst designing the electronic release systems for RC Boat fishing, the need arose for bait release systems for Quadcopter Drones. We initially developed an electronic release for the Mavic Pro Drone that was bolted to its underside and having tested this electronic release, we found that there were many drones being lost to the water due to the electronic release not releasing the line in time, or if there was a reel jam – the Drone essentially would fall from the sky as it was flying out the baits.
We began extensive research to try to develop something safer and more reliable and by chance, we came across the Kite Clip release from a New Zealand website that specializes in Kite fishing accessories. The Kite Clip utilized a very simple design that consisted of two ball bearings pushing against each other with a spring behind them and the tension could be adjusted with a set screw. Having purchased one from New Zealand we tested it on Quadcopters with great success and we immediately saw the benefits of using a tension release system for drone fishing.
These mechanisms are readily available and made by factories in Europe that specialize in their manufacture, and they have been used extensively in other markets for many years. This provides a much more stable and quality manufactured tension mechanism that is extremely reliable, works flawlessly every time, will not corrode, and more importantly – we did not need to re-invent the wheel or require any special Patents.
After many designs and enormous testing of the SkyClip Commander for Mavic Pro (which continues today), we designed a new Tension release Clip which is integrated into our own designed gimbal mounts used for Drones to carry payloads. This is how the SkyClip idea was born.
